What an emotional rollercoaster the last few weeks have been. Personally, I went from getting really angry and completely bewildered with all the toilet roll buyers, to wishing I had been one of them (when you have six bottoms in the house, we certainly need plenty of loo roll).
From a business point of view, we were so torn between ‘business as usual’ and closing, but we chose to close the studio doors to protect our family and our clients families.
What lockdown meant for us and our Brides & Grooms
When the lock down was announced a few days later, I felt so sorry for our couples having to postpone their weddings. There were many tearful conversations (equal share were my tears), from the sadness of spending the last few months, even years, planning their special day to having it whipped away. Thankfully, we have managed to reschedule everyone’s wedding day and so happy that we can still be part of their day.
What can we do to help?
We are now in week 3 of lock down and trying to think of ways to help couple’s planning their weddings in 2021 and 2022. For many, this is a very worrying time financially, I am sure many couples have decided to hold off planning their wedding. We all need something to look forward to though. With this in mind, Phil and myself have been thinking of ways we can help.
For any new bookings during COVID-19, we are offering ‘Book Now, Pay Later’. To secure your wedding date we normally ask for a deposit at the time of booking. To help, we are happy for you pay your deposit at a later date, all we ask is to agree a date this will be paid by. To spread the love a little bit more, we are also going to include a free gift of a 26” frame with your package.
