Introduction

My name is Philip Aucott and I am the owner/manager/creator/sole proprietor and general dogsbody of Philip Charles Photography.  Charles is my middle name for those who are curious, and the only reason I use it is because most people have a little trouble pronouncing my surname.  I am the proud father of my two beautiful children Luke and Eve and when I'm not hard at work, spending time with the family is top of my list.

History

I was a keen photographer from an early age, in actual fact I managed to get my hands on a cheap 35mm SLR when I was about 14.  This fueled my passion and I soon pursued a career in my much loved hobby.  When I left college I realised that getting a full time job as a photographer was looking a little bleak, so my chosen profession had to take a back seat while I earned some money and gained some valuable life experience.  During this time my photography was just a hobby that earned me a little cash when it could.  It was only when I got made redundant from my full time job that I realised it was time to take the big leap and go full time with photography.  This was a difficult decision as I knew initially, from a financial aspect, times would be hard, but we knuckled down as a family, and, despite the hard times which followed, now the success of the business means we are all much happier and I have come to realise that photography had been the missing chunk of my life for more than 10 years.

The Future

I'm always trying to explore new avenues and bring something new and creative to my customers.  I have built some really strong ties with local suppliers and they are always trying to think 'outside the box' with me.  Product development, training and equipment investment are all key to the continuing growth of the business.  I would love to expand from the current studio to larger premises but at the moment my studio above the bank suits me quite well.  Creating images that can be cherished and viewed for generations to come is the ultimate aim of my Photography.  I love to send customers away happy and satisfied as I know that a solid reputation and recommendations are the key to the future of Philip Charles Photography.
